Storm news
Friday, December 19, 2008

It's December and it's snowing. Is that really news?

We know that snow is a regular part of winter in this region, and that our readers don't need us to rally all our troops every time it snows.

But a substantial snowfall today is likely to be a story in Saturday's newspaper for lots of reasons. The storm comes just as the region was recovering from last week's dramatic ice storm. It's also hitting the region on the weekend before Christmas, a prime shopping weekend and one retailers hope would compensate for the lack of business last weekend.

Maybe today's projected storm will fizzle out. If it doesn't, we'll be out and about covering it.
